San Luis Valley Envirothon

These guides provide the an outline of the areas of study. There will be field excursions that provide hands-on activities for each topic area. RGWCEI will sponsor field study trips in each area. Schools will be reimbursed bus driver time and fuel for all field study trips but must provide receipts/documentation. Contact Bethany Howell for more information.

Learning Outcomes

 The following are learning outcomes followed by the national and international Envirothon competitions. The SLV Workshops are tailored to meet these outcomes:

The San Luis Valley Envirothon will host 5 Learning Days in preparation for the 2018 State Competition.  State competition dates TBD - late April 2018. Entry forms will be available in February/March 2018.

The dates are as follows:

        Soil and Land Use - October 25, 2017 - Center, CO

Forestry - November 8, 2017 - Alamosa, CO

        Oral Presentation/Current Issue - February 7, 2018 - Alamosa, CO

Aquatics - April 18, 2018 - Tentatively in San Luis

Wildlife - April 4, 2018 - TBD
